I just wanted to tell everyone my :dancing: GREAT news. Had annual checkup(after about 5 yrs of not going). No breast cancer or cervical cancer. Urge everyone:Men, women, children to have their checkups. I have no health coverage. Went to the local health dept and had to pay $5.00 for the visit. They covered the mammogram also.

That is awesome! :) It has been about 3 years for me. :o I know I am way overdo but I will be calling soon to make an appt.

Thanks SharonL. I do urge you to go. I hate the fact that I have to take some anitbiotics for a bladder infection, because I hate to take medicine, I don't even take vitamins.
It is important after 40 to get annual checkups. Cancer runs on both sides of my family, so you would think I would be smarter.

:bigok: Congrats Connie!
I hate going to the doctor. I havent been to any in a couple of years and I went for a basic check-up couple weeks ago....still no probs! Just have to go to OBGYN for a final inspection.

Now that my husband and I are getting older - we are realizing that we need to get checkups. His Dad fell back in Dec and when he went to the hospital they found several other things - nothing too serious, but still needed fixed. We made our appointments soon after!!!!

It is very important to keep up with your health. Young people too. LOL I had a scary situation with a lump in my breast this past year. At the initial finding (a couple years ago, around age 28) they said it was fine, nothing to be concerned about (even after an ultrasound). But then this past spring after it was larger and a bit tender they started to freak out. (I was only 30.) They did a mammogram, but it could not say one way or the other, but it leaned toward not good. I can't remember the stages for mammogram results but I was in the "middle of the road, could be cancer and then again maybe not" stage. I was referred to a cancer center, they did a stereo-tactic biopsy (which did not yield enough cells to confirm anything), so they scheduled surgery to have the mass removed. After the surgery it was the waiting that was awful. Finally got the news back that I was OK. I was relieved. Overall, it was terrifying to go through. So, everyone get yourselves checked out! Guys too! We have a friend who, at age 24, was diagnosed with testicular cancer. He's OK now. So, please.....take care of yourselves fellow Spoofers.

Thank you everyone. And I know that no one should live w/out health coverage, but being unemployed and taking care of a disabled spouse leaves us with barely enough money for the basics. But hey I usually only get sinus infections and maybe UTI or bladder infections. My internal health is great, including my cholesterol, it is just the outside that is falling apart. What can I expect at my age.
