I'm interested in Head Phones... those ones that feel good, Like that fake synthetic leather stuff but feels good and have good quality without all that olie grimmy stuff from the public at record stores and stuff...

Know of a good one for a good price?!

I've got two suggestions for headphones.

  1. Sony MDR M30g - available for about $20 everywhere. These are the yellow ones which fold in half and have sidewise firing speakers.
  2. Name unknown, possibly Jenson. - available at Best Buy for about $20. They are grey, have a little Nike - style checkmark on each earpiece, and come in a white package with a huge clear oval blister pack.
    [/list=1]

I am a headphone fanatic and have tried many including some expensive ones. IMHO these two, despite being only $20, are the best sounding headphones available today, period.

They completly blow away headphones costing $150 or more.

I tried the Sony because I needed a pair which would stay on while skating and snowboarding. The Sony goes in the ear and wraps around the top of the head - locking it in place. It weighs maybe an ounce.

I was astounded by the sound! Loud, plenty of deep base, clear treble. The best.

I tried the second because the Sony's hurt when worn under a ski goggle. They dug in a little. The second has a band about the same size as a piece of spaghetti (you read that right). The earpieces again lock in the ears and this time the band goes behind the head. It weighs an ounce too.

The sound is equal to the Sony - unbeleivable.

I've abandoned using the old style over the ear headphones forever. No comparison.

Also these two are so small that no one will know you have them on. They completely disapear under a hat. I where them to go ice skating where it is generally forbidden to wear headphones on an ice rink. You can drive while wearing them and no cop will stop you.

Well I know the ones you're talking about... but I'm more interested in those DJ-ish type of head phones. The ones that are big, synthetic leather coverings without those sponge kind of the things...

I just want to put it into my stereo cuz sometimes i feel like the beat goes better to the flow of head phones rather than the speakers themselves unless you blow the sound...

But thanks for the tip, i'll go check them out...:D

If you have never tried in-the-ear headphones you will be astounded by the two I mentioned. They completely outperform any DJ style, earcup, or over-the-ear headphone out there.

i wish I understood the principle of the Sony's. they fire forward and they have a bacward facing vent. They do not fire directly into the ear. Clearly there is some pschoacoustic principle being used here and used well.

These babies put out some bottom.

the Jensons(?) are more conventional yet are also dynamite performers. They too have a backward facing vent. (what does that do?).

I bought a long cable with stereo mini plugs so I can walk around the den while wearing these phones.

The Koss and Sennheiser have been retired.

The 2nd headphones you mentioned

I'm interested in the second pair of headphones you spoke of RW, but the simple description you provided isn't doing me much good trying to tell which ones they are on BestBuy.com. I'd preferably not hafta drive to a B&M store b/c it's not too close. So if you could do your best to find out the brand and model of that 2nd pair you listed, I'd really appreciate it.
