How much did you (or your spouse) pay for your wedding dress?

(also what year so we can adjust for inflation :p)

I hunted and hunted for the "perfect dress" as we all do.
And I found it, breezing thru clearance racks at JCP.
It fit to a "T" and I think with tax it was $105.00
I couldnt believe it! It was exactly what I wanted! It was an answered prayer really!
This was in 2001

So far, I'd say my wife's wedding dress has cost me about $2M and change.

The dress or the 2mil?

I just bought my dress this past Thursday for $130.00. The bridal shop was going out of business. I saved $400.00. My bridesmaid got $100.00 each off of their dresses.

Planning on renewing your vows or trading in the old man?;)

Not right now but with what I paid, I'd be wearing the same dress! :p Just to ' professionally preserve and box' it cost me more than KM's.......:o

So men, what was the 'initial' purchase price? *or is the misses not telling:questionmark:*

I bought my gown and veil in 1976 for close to five hundred dollars. It was the year of the Bicent. and it had a hoop skirt, a ten foot train, and a twelve foot veil. I went to get into the limo, a wind came up and blew the hoop up over my head! LOL LOL Truly difficult to lug all that material around for hours and hours. Gowns today are more simple and elegant too.

My mom made my dress for my wedding in 2002. I think all the materials cost about $60.

Yeah - cleaning and putting it in a box was almost as much as my dress, but my Mom took care of that for me.
My dress was originally over $500...I think it was $550....it was beautiful, so was the dress ;)

I found mine at JC Penney for $154 in 2002. It wasn't the dress that I liked the most but I had to settle for that because the one I really wanted was a size 26, (just a few sizes too big! lol)

I can't remember for sure...I think it was around $250. (married in 1996, but I may have gotten the dress in 1995. I was young, 19) It was a super deal, all raw natural creamy colored silk. Full skirt and such. Of course the alterations to add a bustle and make it shorter for me cost about half the price of the dress. LOL I really wanted a different dress but it was around $500 and my parents said no. LOL The one I had was very pretty. It worked out great! (I even have been able to use the giant crinoline that I had to buy to go with it. It went under the green dress from the Tiny Tim's Christmas Carol show.)

My dress was somewhere between $350 and $400 back in 1996. I kept it in hopes that my husband would want to renew our vows one day.

In 2002, I paid about $900 for dress and tiara/veil. (but $100 of that was to have the dress custom made, I'm only 5' tall and there was a design in the middle of the design, they had to make one just for my height :)

I think I paid about 500 for mine in 2001. I didn't want to spend more than 350 on a dress but the lady at the store wouldn't let me see prices. She made me try everything I liked on... then once she had the bait she let me know the cost. lol.. I took the bait. It was a beautiful dress and I have no regrets about choosing it. I wish I wouldn't have bought the tiara/veil though. That was a BIG waste. Don't want to go into how much I paid for that.

So, Preco, you started this thread...how much did you pay for your dress?;)

Well...how much was yours?

I originally wanted a Scassi which was $3,000+ (without head gear - a long story) and my husband/fiance went bizerk! :noidea:(It retailed for over $6k)
Who'da thunk? :05:

Anywho, ended up with a silk dress for about $1200. Which was very nice. I didn't want to mention it at first because I know NY weddings are always more (even for the same thing) and I didn't want anyone to feel intimidated. And for Big Daddy's notebook/calculator, it was 1994...:p

I bought a dress for a Christmas party and used it when I got married. Bought it in 1985 or 86 for $80.00, for the dress and a nice fake pearl necklace. Met my husband at the end of June 1987, we eloped on 9/23/87.
It was a nice dress but of course I can't fit into it anymore. I was a size 5 then, won't say what size I am now.
