Amazon offers shoppers "Quick Picks" which is a personalized "Deals of the Day" for each shopper. Amazon uses what you own as one of the methods to figure out what to offer you.

This is a great method for high priced items such as TVs, video game consoles, etc.

YMMV

1. (Recommended) Go to Amazon, and create a new account
All you need is a new email address

2. Tell Amazon you own an item related to what you want a discount on
- Go to the item's page that you want
- See the items listed under "Buy This Product and Related Accessories"
- Go to one of the related item's page
- Scroll to the bottom where you can rate the item and click "I own it"

3. Clean your recommendations
- Click on "recommendations" at the top of the page. You will see a list of items Amazon recommends you
- Click "Not interested" on all items not related to what you want a discount on

4. Get the discount
- Come back the next day and go to "Today's Deals" at the top
- You may see your item on the bottom under Quick Picks with a discount

I personally wanted a Samsung LN52A750. People are reporting a $100 discount so I hope I get it tomorrow.

Thanks for the info..I can't wait to try this..I love shopping at amazon.

I know this isn't the place to post but I saw that previous posters were trying to get a high-end item.. so I figured I could give it a shot.

I have bought Amazon gift cards to give to my girlfriend, but we broke up last week.

I have two $25; one $30; two $50; one $200; one $237.97 (this one was a item return), totaling $617.97

I would like a helpful frequent shopper of Amazon who would want to exchange these for cash or paypal (I have a personal account, so no credit/debit card payments please).

I can't think of things to buy anymore on Amazon. So I rather take the cash to pay for my grad school tuition/books. I know I could list them on eBay and get the face value and sometimes more than the face value, but I have no time to list them one by one and the patience to wait for biddings.. hence I'm asking fellow spoofee members to help me get them off my hands (since you are frequent shoppers of amazon anyway :) ). If you want all, I will sweeten the deal with a discount. :teeth:

If interested, feel free to email me (my user name at hotmail.com) for information. They do not expire! The photos below are mine that I created with "print screen" key of my emails. They are real. Let me know. Thank you fellow Spoofeers!!! :peace:

Never seen a "Quick Picks" - Where are they?

I've never been offered one of these, and I buy from Amazon all the time. Where is it on the page???

Doh! Sorry kyungjunhan, I saw this message too late. This morning, they offered it to me in quickpicks and I jumped on the deal. Saved $100 :)

i'm just looking to buy a few books. let's see what deals they offer me tomorrow. i have to buy $25+ to get free economy shipping, right?

beno, that's correct unless you have Amazon prime.

It's quite easy to fill up to $25 though, you can always fill it up with some DVD/blu-ray and resell them on ebay for the same price :p

well, it appears that it did not work for my couple of books. oh well... maybe it only works with higher priced items?

something else!

so... since i didn't get the discount on the books via this method, i went ahead and bought them at the normal price. however, the next day, i saw that the prices dropped! was this because i had bought them? immediately, i canceled my entire order and submitted a new one with all the same items. strange, huh? i saved... well, like a buck total... maybe two.
