I.... I mean Santa needs two kid friendly digital cameras.........

The Sophinator (7) would like a digital camera, as a result, Charzilla (almost 3) will also want one. FYI the Barbie and similar "kid" cameras take awful quality pictures and seemed pretty difficult for a kid to use. Any reasonably priced suggestions?

We are just looking for a camera that takes decent pictures, is easy to use and the camera should have an LCD screen so we could see 50 pictures of Owen's neck right away. Now for the tough part, I'd prefer to stay under $50 each.

Any firsthand experience?

Thank you!!

the vivitar ones are much cheaper because their lens is plastic instead of glass (or so the guy at best buy told me)... might look into those

was just thinking though... you might suck it up and spend a little more to get something with a rechargeable battery. the cheapo cameras take AA or AAA batteries which die quickly and you'll wind up spending more on batteries than you ever did on the camera.

Thanks! If it uses AA or AAA, I have loads of rechargeables, so I'll stay cheap.

Why doesn't anyone else offer advice? Not that your advice isn't enough, clubby. ;)

I didnt offer my :money: because, I am lost on the topic of cameras, I did look at Best Buy's website & didnt find anything under $99.99

looks to me like the vivicam 3785 may be what you're looking for. i've been lookin around for deals- the cheapest at a "reliable" store was walmart for 79. i'll keep looking though - we wouldn't be true spoofers if we settled for that :p

big daddy, did u see the resolution on those? since you don't want "awful" pictures, you might want to look at something a little better. not trying to tell u what to do... i mean, santa knows best ;)

Thanks! I know I e-mailed them hoping the .3 wasn't megapixels, but it was. :(

They have a lot of good feeback with them though. :camera:

Target has some other options. There is a Hello Kitty one for $49.99. and a Scooby Doo one for $39.99. The Video Camera on top can take 7 minutes of video! but its $69.99.

There is also a 10% off your first order with code:TCTVTGC2SAVE

Thanks, but I've found the character cameras aren't so good quality-wise. I actually bought a Pooh digital camera last year on eBay and returned it to a store near me. :o

fine...
The rules are making this hard.. but i'll keep looking.

IMHO the character cameras will probably be better than that cheapie camera you were looking at getting from Ebay. You have to take into consideration that the kids camera are probably meant to take a kids abuse, that cheap camera off Ebay would probably break if it was dropped. Those no name cheapies will not last and the picture quality of them is probably comparable to a cell phone.

I think maybe your best bet would be to find 2 remaunfactered brand name, <3mp cameras.

I am still looking, I will post what I find, ;)

Never mind, I just saw that it's sold out :(

Thanks, penpen! That might have been a good one, since I assume it could be returned if it isn't that good.

What's everyone's opinion on this one:

Only have about 1/2 hour to decide though.

If all you're looking for is a 1.3 MP digital camera, I think i've seen quite a few of those around the 'net for around that price. the $10 shipping seems unreasonable too.

Let me look around a find a few links ...
