but I am getting really annoyed with MapQuest!

They eliminated the "reverse directions" option and yesterday, had me driving in circles all over the state.

Is Yahoo Maps more reliable? Is that what most people use now?

Thanks if you have any thoughts on this.

try using maps.google.com

btw, you can drag the map around to where you want too see

and you can switch between map (drawn) or satellite views or a combination of both

Yea.. I give another vote on maps.google.com

Always questioned me why many still use mapquest. I heard it looks better on print?

Well, just for me, I've always had a wicked hard time with the picture maps (the kind from triple A), so when I discovered MapQuest and that written step-by-step narrative, it was instant love! I had spent years trying to decode the picture maps and being totally lost.

Off to find maps.google -- thanks so much for the tip!

The reverse directions is still on map quest. Once you enter the address you're going to and the address you're coming from, scroll down just a bit and there is a box off to the right hand side that says Advanced options. There are five advanced options in that box I believe. One of them is reverse search. Hope this helps.

I use Yahoo! Maps as primary source, MapQuest as secondary. I guess it depends on your preference. I like to see the map to where I'm going, but a lot of people like the turn-by-turn information, which can be wrong I found out. Turn-by-turn direction to our house from both Yahoo and MapQuest is wrong, although the maps are correct. So I always tell my wife to learn to "read" map, not following directions, so that you always know where you are ;)

Well, I love Google Maps, their service is great and very user-friendly. I like the fact you can zoom in and drag the map all through your route. And, with max zoom you can actually see what the building you're trying to go to looks like via sattelite! Next, I trust yahoo! maps and Mapquest the last.

However, as I was recently mapping my route through my intersate move, Yahoo and Mapquest agreed on my directions, while Google gave me the route that was ~280 miles longer. Also, when I reversed directions, google maps showed a shorter route.....closer to what the other two services were showing  This is a lesson to all: noone is perfect.

i just tried google maps for the first time since i have to take my son to a birthday party today and the maps and directions look great i hope they are easy to follow now. I will let you know. thanks for the idea because i only knew of mapquest before.:)

Actually, I just learned about Yahoo! Maps BETA version (click on it midpage) on maps.yahoo.com

It's based sort of on google platform, but Flash-based, and 2 things that are better than Google maps are:

1. Most current up-to-date locations including new constructions
2. Multi-trip searches :bigok:

Check them out

I'm not an advocate of anything Microsoft but they also have a beta map service:

http://local.live.com/

and with a cool "birds eye" view.
