idea for coupon section

How about when we submit a coupon it auto posts in the coupon section. As in say i want to submit a coupon code i get a screen where i have to fill 4 fields ie (Store Name, Discount, Code ,Expires) . This then auto adds it to the database and auto removes at the expired dates. If the expiry is unknows im sure a mod can delete it .

We have similar access with the front page. Super moderators can post deals directly to the front page, but I think that letting users edit the coupon section without being moderators would greatly compromise the security and professional appearance of the site. It is a great idea though if super moderators also had access to the coupons section, but we do have a wonderful moderator who handles the coupon section, Spoofee-Coupons, and I'm sure she'd be very upset to have her job taken away from her. Personally, she does a great job so I have no interest in taking that from her, so I think that as long as she continues to do a fine job of updating it, it should be left as it is.

Erik i dint mean ppl edit it . Just give them privilage to post there by filling up a box. The reason being alot of coupons are posted in the forum and not transferred to the coupon page. If when someone posts int he forum he has to fill up the 5 fields and it gets auto posted in the coupon page.

Once its p there no one can edit it and a super mod can always delete it if there is a problem

Dehawk, the problem isn't people editing the coupon, its the actual posting itself. I think it might be more of a headache to clean up then help. However, The coupons page is now being updated with all the coupons from the coupons thread section. You should go take a look.

dehawk, that is a good idea and will make Spoofee-Coupon's job a lot easier. I need to discuss this with Spoofee-Coupons on which is better and if Spoofee-Coupons prefers the way process it is now, I need to have her actively check on the coupon section as a daily routine. We will get back to this thread.
