If You Purchased an Epson Printer, You May Get $25

Awesome, I got my Epson printer for free. Now I make $25 :claps:

How would I have the serial number of a printer I bought in 2000 and no longer have?

Guess. Just like I'm going to do on the date and store I purchased mine. ;)

I was hoping LQ-590's were on the list. We have dozens of them.

Awesome! Maybe I'll recover part of the cash for the $50 rebate they wouldn't send me for my scanner purchase.

no, it's 45 dollars if you go to http://www.epsonsettlement.com/

i got a thing in the mail so go through these people!

There are three payment options you can choose:
A $45 store credit at Epson
$25 cash and $20 store credit
10% the epson store (Max $100 discount)

Thanks for the post! I have 3 Epsons we've bought over this time period, all with rebates, so I have all the paperwork!!!!! :bigok:

Thanks for the info. I have the RX500 and I'm glad I kept
all the records on it. I only paid about $25 for it after rebates
and coupons so it's just about free now.

How do you guess on the serial number? If its not correct it wont take it will it?

hey, i can't seem to go the registration page from the original thread,

it keeps redirecting me to some " http://www.epson.com/SessionExpired.html"

Can someone please help me how to look for the serial number? How many digits are there? I still have the printer, but I'm not sure which is the serial number. Thanks

Found an old epson in the street a year ago. Dont even use it.

SCORRRRRRRRREEEEEEEE!

So without making me read the entire settlement legalese blah blah blah, can someone tell me briefly what this is about? I don't have an Epson printer I am just curious as to what they did wrong and therefore people are *****ing about, thanks.

Epson made their printers in such a way that when the black OR color ink ran out, the printer refused to work until you replaced it (ie you couldn't run out of color and continue to print all B&W like most printers let you do). There was also something about the ink monitor in the computer being set to "run out of ink" before the cartridge was actually empty. This pissed many, many people off, and someone sued their ass. Epson decided to settle so they could avoid going to court over it. The settlement allows anyone who bought the printers on the list (seemed like most epson printers) between a certain time period to get a $45 epson store credit (barf) OR 10% off epson store up to $100 discount (barf), or $25 CASH and $20 store credit. You fill out a couple pages of easy info about your computer, send it in, and then wait for the cash to flow in.

Basically, the printer will indicate that the color ink cartridges are empty and will not print using those colors even though there is plenty of ink in the cartridge. We've been having exactly this problem, but we thought it was because we don't use the color cartridges much.

You can choose to receive a $25 check or a $45 credit toward a future epson purchase.

Personally, I'd rather know how to fix the problem rather than receive a measly $25. I bought the printer to print photos and $25 doesn't really help me do that. I don't want to buy another printer either, even if I get $45 off. I already spent money on this one and I just want it to work without spending any more money. A fair settlement would be for Epson to replace the printers or tell people how to fix the problem.

what if i bought the printer but no longer have it therefore have no way of having the serial number.
