Kingston 512mb DDR SDRam for Notebooks for $1.99 After Pricematch

Circuit City has the Kingston Technologies 512MB DDR SDRAM Notebook Memory (KVR333SO/512R) for $1.99 after pricematch and rebate.

Note : YMMV because some Circuit City managers may reject stating their price is lower after rebate. If they are busy or not aware of the rebates, your chances are better.

Pricegrabber Price : $58.98 ~ $99.99 Shipped

1. Order the memory stick for in-store pickup through Circuit City ( Price : $69.99 )
2. Print this page from Bestbuy
3. When you go pickup the hard drive from Circuit City, show them the Officemax price and ask for a pricematch. If they will not accept it, you can ask for a refund there. ( Pricematch : -$33 )
4. Rebate1 Price : -$10.00
5. Rebate2 Price : -$25.00
Final Price : $1.99 after rebates

Frys

Too much effort for me, i think Frys had them on sale for like 12 bucks the other day

2. Print this page from Bestbuy
3. When you go pickup the hard drive from Circuit City, show them the Officemax price and ask for a pricematch.

I think you mean show them the ad from BestBuy.

I also believe it's when you go pick up the memory, not hard drive? ;)

OK we can poke fun of the rhetoric all we want, but lets get the fact here circuit city people is not likely to fall for this. I tried it many times at many different stores and it hasn't work. I can only speak for myself. Your chance is a lot better if you know somebody there, maybe go to the same school as you, or your neighbor, ha ha..

I got this deal to work. However, make a few notes:

1. I went to the nearest Circuit City in San Diego and they looked up the RAM and looked at the Best Buy offer and noticed an "R" after the 512, same model, but it ended with "R" rather than nothing (i.e. model/512 vs. model/512R). Also, the BB price is orginally priced at $84.99 vs. the Circuit City RAM which is originally priced at $69.99. Since there was an "R" there they wouldn't do it. I transferred my order (ordered online) to the one in Point Loma, to try it there.

2. I showed them my order, then the BB Ad, they honored it and let me get the RAM at $36.99 (the extra 10%) + TAX. I got the RAM, but the RAM I found out is "Value RAM" so this is what the "R" meant, which I had no idea until I got the RAM and checked it out. So, while it does work, you gotta make sure you want "Value RAM" and if they miss the fact that the two products are different items.

3. They never even really noticed the rebate since when you print out your order, it doesn't mention rebates.

either way, $5 for 512 MB of Value RAM isn't too bad after tax and rebates and such.

I do not consider this as a deal. This is a trick and half lie too! Most of the time it will not work and some time if manager or saleman is smart then you may lose your self respect!

Oh yes, POOR POOR CC

Yes its mean to trick them! They would NEVER do that to US!

Worked for me... I think.

I bought the memory online for store pickup. Picked it up and went back later in the day for the pricematch. They checked online to be sure Best Buy wasnt offering a rebate, but didnt check their own sale. They credited me back for the 110% difference. So unless they reduce the rebate, I got a great deal.
