Lexar 2GB JumpDrive USB Drive for $13.14 Shipped After Rebate

Do your Homework

Initially, I thought this would be a great deal; and it is, but you really need to review this product fully to know what you're getting. The Secure II has an encryption enabled software package that allows you to put confidential files that no one else can see but you on the flash drive. The problem is that it ONLY works when you're the administrator.

In other words, unless you're the boss, the IT guy, or "Dave" the Network Guy, you won't be able to access your confidential data. Everything else that is saved on the drive (that is not encrypted) shows up just fine, but all other encrypted works are "un-openable." Also, one reviewer said that sometimes the "Safely remove Hardware" function doesn't work right and he's forced to remove it the old fashioned way. This little action has caused corruption of other files and ultimately the Blue Screen of Death.

I do not own such a device but $13 for 2 gigs is great. After doing some reserarch on Amazon, it seems like this may not be that great of a deal. Again, I'm just saying that you need to do your homework before ordering this.

I got a similar type USB Drive thathad security software on it ... I just removed it. it was just an anutorun.inf file that launched software that would encrypt the files. I just removed it and I have never had any issues
