toner cartridges look expensive.

Is the toner cartridge more expensive than other brands? Or is it just expensive? If it is just "expensive", remember that laser printer toner is generally very expensive. However, the amount of paper that can be printed using one toner cartridge is very high (compared to ink jet).

the cartridges and the reabtes are a big sign saying: "enter at ur own risk"

Variations on this good deal have been around for a few weeks.
NewEgg is now including a free AMD processor priced at $59.

My Lexmark C534n arrived just a couple days ago. (from Amazon)
I like it alot for the under $200 cost.

A few observations:

1: Set up is very easy, unless you are using VISTA.
The installation CD does not recognize the VISTA Business OS.
Simple enough to download the new VISTA install at the Lexmark website.
No owner's manual.

2: This is one large and heavy machine.

3: The warmup phase is extremely noisey.
But more bothersome is the idle phase.
The idle phase is less noisey than warmup, but stays on for maybe 20 minutes before going into sleep mode.
Noisey enough, that I moved the machine to a less-convenient location.

4: It is very fast after the 90 second warmup phase.
But as noted many times, photos just do not have the high quality that inkjets deliver.

5: The cartridges packaged with the C534n are starter cartridges and have 1500 sheet capacity, not the 6000 that has been widely quoted.
Link to Lexmark for 1500 sheet cartridges info.

cartidges on laser printers can easily last you AT LEAST a year. I'm still on my original cartridge after OVER TWO YEARS of use... Not even half done with any of the four... I don't think that should be a terrible worry, IMO

The offer number on the Lexmark rebate site didn't work

Type in the offer # from the rebate PDF and put it in the Lexmark rebate site and it says it isn't valid

I ordered my HP LaserJet 3055 from NewEgg during their 50% off sale last November. I too was worried, but had no problem getting the promised $250 back.

Just fill it out correctly and you should be fine. But make a copy before you send as proof. Heck, maybe even video tape yourself putting it in the envelop and mailbox. :-)

I installed the drivers on three of my computers today, and all went extremely smoothly, including my machine running Windows Vista Ultimate. I'm not quite sure why the guy who said Vista was an issue had any problems. Maybe I got a newer install CD with mine?

My printer box says I have 6000 page starter cartridges for all three colors and black for my C534n (If I had gotten a C532n, then it says the starter cartridges would have been 3000 for the colors and 400 for the black). The PDF brochure I found online also says I should have 6000 page starter cartirdges...
