Linux compatible but not all...

LinkSys routers are extremely problematic with Apple computers!
This one is a B/G which shouldn't be that much of an issue.
The N-Series LinkSys have problems with the NAT handing out IPs and is easily resolved by logging on to the router and switching the wireless from "mixed" to "mixed-b/g"... of course... why would you get an N-series and do that LOL

NAT doesn't hand out IPs, DHCP does. That, combined with the fact you are generalizing about linksys routers in a thread for a deal on a linksys that supports other linux-based firmwares makes me think you are not a networking-type person.

Typically if you are going to by the GL version the first think that is done is to wipe the stock firmware and load one of the other firmware versions like DD-WRT, Tomato, Open-WRT, and a few others. I personally have DD-WRT running on mine at the house. It has no issues with my apple laptop, but it is a b/g router.

This same deal is available at NewEgg.com

This is true.

It's still cheaper than it wsa before though by about $10 for this model. Not only does it have 8mb of memory and run Linux, it also doesn't have the PPTP passthru issue like the latest version of the WRT54G (v8). [Personally, I can't BELIEVE that VPN doesn't work with the the v8 router. What kind of QA process do they have over there at Linksys??]
