Lite-On 8x DVD+/-RW for $70.99 Shipped Free

Hmm...

Not a bad deal, but not great either.........I picked up an I/O Magic 8X DVD-R/DVD+R, DVD-RW/DVD+RW......at Staples a few weeks ago for the same price, and after talking to my father in law yesterday, he informed me he picked up the same model a couple days ago for $49 after the rebates. I'll try and get more info on this deal, so you can post it on the home page. BTW, Love the site Spoofee........ TOORUDE

DVD Burner

This is a Very good deal for this dvd/cd burner. It is actually the same drive as the Sony Dwu 18A which is slightly higher priced. The drive is also a cd burner. My experience is that these drives seem to be more compatible with the demanding DVD burning software out there.
Now this is just my opinion: I havent had much luck with I/O magic products- they seem to be of inferior quality to me. -I dont work for either of these companies... :)

Not really worth it if you really want to be up to date, I notice that most of the manufacturer are going to do dual layer or double layer. Since the price of dual layer are only 30 more I would think it will be the way to go, plus most of the dvd rom would be able to read dual layer so I think it will be good to go with the best

oh one more thing, I am looking for an 8X dvd burner now, and I am looking for a liteon, because of its reliability. Don't just look at the price because I have tried both io magic and cendyne before, their burner are cheap but they will start to waste your medium within one year

Cendyne was just rebadging Pioneer drives. I have had one for over a year, have burned over 200+ discs and haven't had the slightest problem.

Dont think you will be able to play those dual layer burned dvds on most conventional Dvd players yet. The burning technology is great but maybe a little ahead of its time. Personally I would stick to an inexpensive middle of the road cd/dvd burner- preferably a liteon.

computergeeks has it for $56 with software. They don't' say its a liteon but those who read its specs say it is.
