Just got this explanation from Amazon:

Well, one could claim it's bait and switch. I was able to get the Amazon version with the rebate this morning. I also got an RMA number to return the Office Depot one I got the beginning of the week. Fortunately I saw the warning about the Office Depot not qualifying and did verify that with the Amazon customer service department. Plus I'll have to wait almost a full month for the second package containing my hose clamp
All shipped free, of course.

If you add the hose clamp the items will ship as one package sometime in Feb.!

The $21.95 mouse is the OfficeDepot version and non-rebateable.
The one you want sells for $24.95 and is Amazon's sell with the rebate.
Add the hose clamps for .59 and your order will be over $25; this qualifies for the free shipping.

They apparently get some in stock from time to time, so it flip-flops back and forth between two pages: one for 22.95? which lists the seller as OD, and another one for 24.99 which shows a rebate. You can only get the rebate with the latter. Keep checking!
Ordered mine 1/12, got it 1/15 with a valid Amazon packing slip -- rebate's in the mail!

There you will find (assuming they don't stock out) the $24.99 version from Amazon, with the rebate link.

I'm thinking to cancel my 2 item order and replace the order for the MOUSE and this 99c CD-R, hoping the delivery date will fall in time for the rebate!
I sent (a few hours ago) AMAZON an e-mail to urge the shipping but no answer yet!

Yup I just ordered the mouse and an ink cart for my wife's printer. The Delivery date is the 29th or the 30th. I am also looking on there site for a phone # to call customer service, but so far they have it hidden very well.
Also you might want to check that CD-R again. It shows to be discontinued.

With the Super Saver Shipping the order can be held for 3 -5 days before being processed and then the item will ship standard shipping. For me the item will be shipping from the West Coast for me which will put it here on the 30th which is what there website est's. Also the rep told me that the est's on there web site are conservative.

Just spoke to Amazon CS and got this:
"We (AMAZON.COM) will take responsibility for the late shippment of this item (Logitech Mouse) and will process the rebates even if they arrive after the postmark date!
You will have to send in the rebate and in case that it is denied on late postmarking call CS again for instant approval!
There's a good chance to qualify (by default) all rebates postmarked late!"
Also, both CSreps I've spoken to, mentioned that the MOUSE is momentarily out of stock (and the website being not updated)!
Then she concluded: "I will put a note on your account so when you call they will approve your rebate! I am sorry for the inconvenience but we can not issue an instant-rebate!"
