Because it is sold out from Amazon.com, but it is now for sale from a Amazon.com affiliated business, TigerDirect.

i went back again and this time saw Amazon listed under 'More buying choices.' It WAS listed with free shipping and I ordered it.

Any Good ??????

So does anyone have these or know anything about them?
Kurt

Finally ordered mine today. Always wondered what these games would sound like in surround sound.

I've got a set of these, and they work quite well... As long as you've got a 5.1 soundcard, you'll get good, true surround out of them... The sub puts out decent bass, and the speakers are fairly crisp. If you're after a cheap surround sound system, this is about as good as it gets.

If you're more of an audiophile, I'd recommend the Logitech z-5300's instead.

do the speakers take batteries or are they connected by wires. Reason being, I want to mount these suckers on my ceiling. :D

Wires, a quick search on Amazon gives me the impression that there isn't such a thing as a 5.1 wireless system (of course thats only 10 seconds of searching). Amazon does have a 2 speaker wireless setup that runs around a hundred dollars.

thanks, just read reviews and realized it has wires. i'm going to order them now :)

I've had mine for over a week now and they are really nice. This saves me a lot of space compared to taking up half my desk with my shelf system.

hey, santa cruz is a great sound card for the money.. if u want a great one, save up a little and get audigy2 (dont get ls)..

also, i bought these speakers for like a month now.. they're pretty good.. i bought them for $43.. just called customer service and had them credit me back $6 lol =)

Not as thight as the THX version but a fraction of the cost!

Have installed 2 of these and just ordered 2 more at this cost.
I've been getting $100 a set installed for them.

They sound Great and if your listening to regular pc speakers, this is a big step up.
They go good with a Sound Blaster Live PCI audio card 5-1 that's around $25
