Marathon Runners at the Height of Fashion?

I'm new to the world of running- ran my first 2 mi road race last week (didn't do all that well lol). anyway i came across the latest in women's running fashion- skirts for the marathon runner! what's up with that? they're actually a skort i guess, but i can't decide if it's cute and/or sexy, or just plain dumb. website is http://www.skirtsports.com/ anybody else have an opinion?
 
Good for you about starting to run. :bigok: Not that anyone has to tell you, but it doesn't matter if you win those races, as long as you're getting the exercise and doing your personal best. I wish I had the desire, time and willpower to run, although running after Charzilla is like running a daily marathon sometimes. ;)

As far as the skorts, I can't imagine "real" runners wearing them. :money:
 
thanks :) wish me luck cuz i have another race coming up on saturday. oh and my oldest 3 girls are going to run in a kids' race on june 4. looks like i've got a brood of aspiring runners- either that, or they just wanna be like mom!
oh and for the record, the girls won't be wearing designer skorts- old play clothes are perfect racing gear in my book. ;)

LOL it looks like the goofy faces i like to make at my kids-- but now that i look at it, it sorta does look like tusks huh... now i'll be on the hunt for a better avatar
 
Those shorts (skorts) must be a fashion trend. I can't imagine having extra fabric pushing against your leg is all that comfortable during a race.

Hmmmm....I'm not sure if it's just me, but that looks like Sora from Kingdom Hearts (PS2 game). It was an awesome game and im waiting for the second one to come out in september :)
 
They need decent jogging bras. I read of one lady that had to wear 3 of them.
 
i found the best jogging bra, and it's not a jog bra at all. Bali makes an ugly (i repeat UGLY) granny bra (no offense to the grannies) that fits great and i get NO BOUNCE. but i warned you- it's ugly!!! ;)

oh and for the record, i ran my 2 mile race today in 15:38, which was 13 seconds faster than my time in last sunday's race. and since the good runners ran the 4 mile instead of 2 mile race, my time put me as the first female in!! of course, it was a non-competitive race, so all i get is the personal satisfaction of knowing this info... and now you do too... LOL
i run again next saturday, so keep your fingers crossed for me, as this one will be competitive.

Sora? is that sort of pronounced like sarah??? if so, then i guess i'll keep the avatar.. i never played kingdom hearts, but i remember seeing commercials for it, cuz it's like a disney game isn't it? it looked really cool. ;)
 
Sora is more like Sore.ra -=) yea it was an awesome game. Its a disney and Square/Enix game.

Hey anything, skorts, skirts, whatever is better than running naked, like those ppl from SF's Bay to Breakers last weekend. Ew. I really hated that.

LOL i read about that race. did you actually go see it? i imagine it's not just the beautiful people out there running in the buff. usually the people who do that sort of thing are icky, or so i've heard. plus those hippies are weird to begin with. i mean, who wants to be all jiggling and naked when they're running anyway?? something wrong with that mentality... at least the skorts conceal cellulite-covered behinds. hmmm... maybe i'll order me one now... :D :D :D
