Maxtor 500GB 16MB Buffer PATA Hard Drive for $139.98 Shipped

I'd rather get a 500 GB SATA drive for same price at frys.com plus possible free shipping.... and no sales tax in my area. PATA is old tech so I'd think these drives should get a little cheaper as time goes on. I know I got two of these SATA drives with free shipping about a month ago for $129 each.... and they were super fast drives. I wouldn't want to get a PATA drive.

Seagate owns Maxtor now. Seagate's return policy is kind of poor. They have no option to ship you a replacement drive immediately and return the damaged one in the box they send you for free like Maxtor used to. Instead you have to ship yours to them, wait for them to process, and then they'll ship you a replacement. It makes the 5 year warranty far less impressive.

Thanks! I needed a bigger PATA hard drive for my enclosure. :)
