These are the same CPUs that were in the counterfeit scandal recently, although that happened at NewEgg. Be careful with your purchase!

Only the i7 920, the others are okay. It would be wise to check anyways. hardocp.com tells you how to identify it.

certainly a red flag for an i7 that is $100 cheaper than market price

For starters, these prices have been this way since about Nov. 09. Finally spoofee posts it.

Also, these processors work fine. I used to work at MicroCenter in Chicago and we constantly sold them. I also bought 2 920's that work fine. The reason they are so cheap is because MicroCenter checks the prices of TigerDirect and Newegg.com (for processors only) every Tuesday and Friday morning then beats the price by $10.00. Its like a company rule.

This is legit. They've been having this (i7 920) deal ever since the processor came out. I would of bought one last June if they had the D0 stepping, but the C one was the only one available at that time. On a same note, I use to work for Micro Center, and the way they sell it this cheap is buying in BULK. O yeah one more thing, Fry's Electronics doesn't price match this.

Microcenter is a pretty big store and well-renowned for having great deals. I doubt they would purposefully sell counterfeit ones for a discount.

ch33sehead: My point was not that they'd intentionally do it - I doubt NewEgg did it deliberately either. My point was to check it very carefully when you received it.
