Well, since they also tracked diet before conception, it's possible the selection happens before there is even an embryo. I seem to recall that there are diffs in male/female sperm motility and competition for access to the egg, so somewhat different rates of movement for each in glucose is not too much of a stretch. They're only saying diet is a factor, not that it explains all sex selection. Still, I agree the whole thing is a bit odd, which is why I started off with "Strange".
Guess I should explain that....thanks Monk!!
I always wanted a boy first because I wanted, once I had a girl, for him to watch over his little sister.
She knows I wanted a boy first and she thinks it was a cute idea!
I wanted a boy and a girl too. :secret: Guess I ate too well during my pregnancy.:hungry: Now I can't imagine not having two boys. I'm kinda glad you can't decide what you get.
Butty, now what would one have to eat to have a bot, I wonder?!!
Lots of chips. Silicon chips.
I don't think I would have known whether to pick a boy or girl...glad some decisions are (mostly) out of our hands! We did find out at some point w/ the ultrasound though---I was too impatient to wait!

We never found out with either of my boys.
I wonder what role the age of the father plays...older mothers typically have old partners, so perhaps older men have better quality "boy" sperm for some reason? :sus:
I remember hearing that too. If the mom/egg is older, male sperm (Y-chromosome) supposedly have a better shot at making it through than those w/ the X-chromosome.

Booby bot ??:convinced:Lots of chips. Silicon chips.
