I am just venting and i am not mad at anyone here.But let me tell you why MrsK is angry.I was sitting in front of my computer yesterday,and heard my father in law talking to someone.So i went outside to see whom he was talking too.Our garage door was open because he was putting around.Well walking up our driveway was this tiny,little dog.He was dirty,matted,and panting quite heavily.My father picked him up,and brought him from out of the heat.I went inside and brought out a bowl of cold water.This is why MrsK is angry...>This little,sweetheart boy looked like a Yorkshire Terrier,a little larger sort of like a Silky Terrier,which maybe weighs 15-20 pounds at the most.This little sweet dog weighed maybe 5 pounds,and was emaciated.My heart ached as i felt all of his ribs.So i went inside and brought out a bowl of my dog's food.Poor guy was literally starving.And all the time he was eating and drinking,his little tail would slowly wag in appreciation.He looked up at Mrs K and gave her a soft doggy kiss on the cheek.MrsK wasn't worried about rabies or anything.All i could think about was this poor little guy.He looked like he had been on his own for about 2 weeks.My daughter came out of the house and sat with the three of us.He also gave her a soft tail wag.He also gave her a doggy kiss too.All he was looking for was someone to help him.So MrsK didn't know what to do.My heart said to keep him,but my family has three dogs,but i could have made room for this tiny boy.So i called Polk County Animal Control.He came out within 30-40 minutes.He looked at this tiny little dog,and was taking his picture with a digital camera,then scanned him for a microchip,and then started putting him in the truck.The little guy had a microchip.Yay!!At this point.....sorry,but MrsK has a lump in her throat,and is about ready to cry.As emaciated as the poor guy was,all i could think was he would be euthanized.I could only think of what had happened if he wasn't microchipped.But this woman driving up our street, started screaming at the animal control guy about has anyone seen her dog?He said yes.This is why MrsK is very angry.Her excuse was he was getting ready to be bathed and she took his collar off and he went missing.
This dog appeared neglected,and the animal control guy knew it.Now i feel guilty for calling Animal Control and letting her take the little sweetheart back home,if that was her dog.She asked the little guy to jump out of the truck so she could pick him up.If the poor guy fell,he would be seriously hurt.So the animal control guy gently picked him up and gave him back to the lady.
I am very angry at people because of the way pets are neglected like that.Sometimes i am ashamed to be a human.But thanks for letting MrsK vent.
Now MrsK has to get back online to make sure her dog's microchip has been updated.Thanks for hearing me ramble on guys.

How sad. I'd be angry, too. Around here, the authorities take reports of animal cruelty and neglect very seriously, and the call is anonymous... :boink:
 
I doubt her call was anonymous. I'm sure she referred to herself as "Mrs K".
 
When i called the animal control,i gave them my full name.I didn't care if the owner liked it or not.The animal control officer has been to my home before on another call i had to make because some person just dumped their poor dog by my house.So he just pulled up in my driveway as before.I would have felt horrible if that poor little guy had been run over or worse...been eaten by a coyote.My heart sank when the animal control officer let him go home.Oh well,i tried to do a good deed.
 
Thank you, MrsK, for being a responsible pet owener and caregiver, from us other responsible pet owners and caregivers.
 
I had to do what i felt was right.This little guy wanted someone,a kind face to just love him and help him.He was hungry and very thirsty,and frightened of the impending bad weather.I hope he is doing better a little more everyday.
 
MrsK thank you for doing the right thing! You like so many other RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERS try to help! That animal control officer was DEAD WRONG to give back a dog that's been neglected! Here in Clay County Fl that would NOT have happened! They have a NO KILL Policy in place and ALL DOGS that are NEGLECTED WILL be nursed back to health and adopted out AFTER a full screen investigation which INCLUDES random visits AFTER the dog is placed! How sad some people take ownership of a pet sooo lightly! To us our pets are like our children! We would NEVER starve our kids and we will NEVER starve our animals! We bathed our children when they were little and We BATHE our pets on a regular basis! We took our children to the pediatrician and we take our Pets to the VET for their reg checkups and shots and keep them on a regular healthy diet. We PLAYED w/ our kids outside when they were little and we Play outside w/ our pets to ensure they get exercise! Thank you again for TRYING to make a difference in this little pet's life!

You know sunninjimmy,he looked at the poor little guy and whipped out his digital camera to take his photo,but she came by and claimed him.The animal control officer knew how weak and emaciated he was.But,he gave him back to her.I prayed to the good lord for the sweet little guy to live one more day.
