NEC 16X DVDRW DVD Burner Beige $24.99 Shipped

It's outpost.com

I dont want to order from them, they get returns & resell so some of the stuff I got looked used. Plus, you pay shipping to return things.

Output/Fry's is a high volume retailor. They sell lots of stuff at discount. I'm going to guess that your chances of getting an item that was returned once are kind of small due to the volume of business they do. Plus a lot of things come sealed such as hard drives.

I'm going to say that an outfit like Fry's/Outpost will put returned stuff in their 'open box' aisle rather than send it out again as new retail. Not saying it doesn't happen but it makes little business sense.

After all, as you say, the stuff looks used...its easy to spot and people wil be on the phone complaining (and online posting) if they get used stuff.

Not to mention that it's illegal. Extremely risky trying to get away with that kind of thing.

Fry's only resells 'open box' items if they're labelled as such.

Aww, product currently unavailable ...

That would be outpost. They get a ton of stuff from the manf with no return privs to the manf. I got some from them once, it looked sort of used & I was required to pay return shipping. I can see how they would win since you pay shipping both ways sometimes, so you're sort of the tester.

ooo

not only is it unavailable but they raised the price to 27.99, still not bad.

You might still be able to get the Samsung 18x, lightscribe, dvdram, 10 LS disks for $39 including shipping & tax at newegg.com
