Netflix delivered its billionth DVD this week seven and a half years after beginning its operation. Any Spoofee member using them? Guess Blockbuster would be considered next? I do see commercials for them, but, personally have never utilized either company. Are they reputable or easy to use?

i used netflix, and canceled it after about 6 mounths. you always felt like they were really dragging their feet in sending your next selection, new dvd's would come in every 1 to 1.5 weeks after you mail out your old dvd (if things went well, a new dvd would show up after 3 days). we live in the same city as the distribution center too. their website would say that the old dvd i sent to them hadnt arrived yet for a week, then only say it got received if i complained. this happened about 12 times. you cant file a complaint on their website until after the 6th day. one time, they held an old dvd i sent for 3 weeks! so i didnt get anything new dvd's in that time. there is no telephone support whatsoever. avoid it like the plague, the company will fail because of their service. also, alot of the dvd's were scratched and skipped during play.

i've heard good and bad things about blockbuster. but if you ever have a problem with anything, you can always go to the store and talk to a human being to get something resolved. part of the blockbuster subscription plan also allows you to get new dvds from the store as well.

there is no telephone support whatsoever.

We can be reached by phone at 1-888-638-3549 M-F between the hours of
6:00am and 7:00pm, Sat-Sun between 6:00am and 2:30pm. Pacific Standard
Time.

Thats nexflix's phone number. Someone in another online community posted it not long ago. She had the same problems you did and had to beg them in a series of e-mails for the number, apparently they didn't give it up easily. I never used them so I can't say anything about their service. But from what I've heard its not something I'll be signing up for soon.

i guess people complained enough that the phone number is available right on the front page of netflix now, but then what i'm seeing is the sign-up page. i wouldnt be surprised if when you login in, and the cookie has been written to your browser, that the phone number disappears, lol. when i was a member, i looked long and hard all over their website for a phone number, and it didnt exist.

I use Neflix for a year now & no problems here ;p

We've used Netflix for about 2 years. It's nice because my husband and I can each put whatever movies we want in the queue and we eventually both get to watch the movies we want without having to go to the video rental place and trying to come to an agreement on which movies to rent. We get the 2 out at a time deal, which costs about $17.50 including tax. We watch 4 or 5 movies a month. It's really easy to just stick them in the mailbox when we're done and several days later a new one arrives. Then we get to watch a movie together without all that hassle of going to the store, agreeing on which movie to get, and making sure to return it on time. Which reminds me I need to get a movie ready to mail...

Blockbuster's deal is probably better. You can swap out the movie at the store instead of waiting for it to come in the mail. I just don't want to mess with driving to the store and I know I'd end up being the one having to do that so I'm not too excited about switching.

We used Netflix a few years back. It was great - we were so close to a distro center we got our next movie in queue in a day! We never had any problems with them, but this was about 5 years ago....I could only assume with more customers things are bound to happen.

I did accidently send them one of my husband PS2 games ( I think it was his new Madden at the time). He was not very happy with me....but I went online, filled out a form and got it back within a week......whew!

If we do have time to watch a movie, we just use PPV. Same amount of money it would cost to go to the video store and rent one - plus there is nothing to return!

I've used Netflix for some time now and I can't really complain. They drag their feet a tad from time to time, but it's not enough to make me want to switch to Block Buster.
