Never too old to learn something new

OK, I like the idea of this thread and "the shocker" is new to me but the name is either very descriptive of what happens when the act is performed or it's pretty lame.
6° has been around for a pretty long time. Granted nobody likes Kevin Bacon that much but he got himself into a hell of a lot of movies.
Since I learn something new every day this thread should keep me pretty occupied. Then again, who wants to hear about recycle symbols on plastic items and what ones NY city wants

Well, when you deliver the shocker, you dont warn the person. Obviously, else it wouldnt shock them very much. Its not an electrical shock, its a "Holy...! what the...!" shock.

So, Jer, didja know that I learned today its really easy to break the main blade clamps on my helicopter when it hits the ground sideways? I also learned that I can get aluminum upgrade parts to replace them.

Cool. What I learned is that the best all-around 10" table saw blade is about 40 teeth per inch.

BTW, I bought my son a "Fly DragonFly" and I'd like to learn if it's junk or if he will be able to have some fun with it. I also got my grandkids some little Dragonflys so they could fly with Dad.

If its that little yellow one that looks like a Hughes, its a 2-channel. Itll go up and down, left and right. For flying indoors, and for flying with the kids (make sure theyre all on different frequencies!) it should be plenty of fun. It can go outside too, if theres no wind.

Is it this one?:

Heres a video from youtube:

That's the one. I got it from Computer Surplus of all places. The little ones for the kids I got as a two-fer from Woot as I recall. Is all the spinning poor "pilot skill" or is the tail rudder inadequate or not able to be controlled well?

Today I learned that Amex Points are more valuable as gift cards than they are for merchandise. As an example, you could get $300 in gift cards for 30,000 points and buy a $300 item in the store that if you bought directly with points would cost about 30,500. Plus you can get anything in the store not just the select items offered by ShopAmex. I also learned I need to use my Amex card more so I can get more points.

Today I learned that Jerry couldnt find this thread. Also that I am going to be the one to do all the moving of the office next week.

I learned that Preco had never heard of cabbage as a New Years meal.

I really thought everyone ate cabbage on New Years.

Nope, Black eyed peas or hoppin' john.

Wouldnt Hoppin' John be considered black eyed peas too?

We eat black eyed peas and cabbage. I cant wait for tomorrow. Have I mentioned that?

I eat shrimp for New Years. My wife and I devoured a 2 lb bag of tail-off last night and today.
