6. wait 10 years and you'll be able to buy them for 20 bucks for a pallet load of them.

And then there will be fights because all these people want to get some too and then you will probably get mugged after you get one and waste your 20 dollars.

Amazon's return policy alone is a huge reason to choose them. 30 days, no questions asked refund...no re-stocking fee.

I did that with an iBook I bought back in September. When the last PowerBooks came out, I called them up & sent the iBook back for a full refund. :bigok:

Amazon

If you're gonna buy from Amazon you should see if anyone can get discounts on Amazon certificates. I believe people with Citi Dividend cards can go through some merchant network and get 5% cashback on Amazon gift certificates, not too sure. And if you know someone who has a Citi mtvU card, they can just order from Amazon and get 5 points per buck back.

And don't forget the 1.57% A9 discount on Amazon! If you do everything right you should get roughly 6.57% discount.

apple employee's...well the 1's at corporate get 25% off...time to order 1 :)

Be sure to calculate the cost of tax. For me, even if I had a student discount, it would be cheaper through amazon to avoid the tax.

Great Idea Wade, I love the way Kentuckians think

I would wait until 2nd gen

Because 1st generations usually have bugs/design issues, I would wait another year or so before buying the Intel Macs... besides, Windows Vista will also be out by then, and you could make a more informed comparison at that point.

Not that MS is likely to beat Apple.... but you never know, especially considering what exactly you'll be using your computer for =P

Very wise. I am definitely going to wait until a year or so to pick up one of these. They will be very buggy, so I'll get one for college.

I'm going to wait till someone hacks the boot locks so I can build myself a Grey Box Mac. :D
