OCZ 2x1GB DDR2 PC2-6400 Memory Kit for $24.99 Shipped After Rebate

anyone know a way to check for compatibility with specific motherboards?

You can always use newegg's memory configurator, but why not just look up the specs on your specific mobo?

How do you do that???

Have the mobo make (manufacturer) and model number and go to the manufacturers website.

Usually under support or just do a search.

Sometimes this information is listed in the users manual. Sometimes.

An electronic version of your manual should be on their site also.

Or worse case just post a message for customer support or a forum message listing all the above.

Cheers

Provided you don't have a Dell/Gateway computer.... They want you to buy branded components.

Look your case and it should be labeled in Bold print usually away from the CPU.

Should be obvious.

Do you have any documentation with the computer? Look there..

If this fails or gtets to hard just pull your current memory stick out and do a search on line to decode what it means and compatible

Don't mix and match speed... 6400 DDR with 5300 etc... or quantity 1 Gig with a 512 Meg etc...

Here's wiggle another some mobo's must have the RAM installed in pairs...

So it's not easy. There's more pit falls so do some research first.

I usually stay with Kingston brand. OCZ is a good brand also. I have even had good luck with Patriot and Ultra beleive it or not.

Now that didn't help did it?... LOL

Good luck!
