Blockbuster is giving everyone a 3 week trial when it should 3 weeks.

- Sign up through here
- Remember to cancel before your trial ends to avoided charges
- Unlike Netflix, you can rent Blu-rays without extra charge

They don't seem to explicitly SAY its a 3-month trial. They say the next BILLING date is September, which implies that. But more likely- they will back-bill for the last 3 months and pro-rate 3 weeks out of it?

Worked for me!

The only thing that they can do is come out and say that this was a "mistake" and that we apologize for any inconvenience.

Then if that's the case, you just cancel.
 
I tried the maximum number of disks and such, it said bill date was July.
Has the "mistake" been fixed possibly?

I called them and she said the actual MISTAKE was calling a 3-month trial a 3-week trial. She said its SUPPOSED to be 3 months..

So I guess we're good to go?:zzz:

I emailed Blockbuster Customer Service and from the email response below I think we are good to go..

I understand that you want to know when the 3 month free trial will end.



I verified that you signed up as of June 25, 2009. You will not be billed from today until September 25, 2009. At the end of the first three months, your membership will return to the rate offered to new subscribers which is $19.99.


To ensure consistent, prompt shipments please keep 15 or more "Available" titles at the top of your queue.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
 
3 months free, niiiice. Not much on the Blu-Ray selection, but I think I can manage 3 months worth. If they don't improve their BluRay selection there won't be any reason for me to stick around after that, though.
 
Sweet! Now I can watch movies all summer long and not have to "wait" on Redbox.

I also e-mailed customer service who said I had 3 months free. My account information on-line also indicates I will not be billed until September. Will Blockbuster even be around in September? Word on the street is that their financial situation is not looking good. Nice find on this deal!:peace:
 
does anyone know if you can rent games with this?

my friend already does the online renting thing from blockbuster but it's only $10/month instead of $20.
 
Yep, three months for me as well.

I just set an "appointment" on my cell phone calendar to remind me on September 24th to cancel the blockbuster subscription.

So I can sign up with a new email and select the:

$34.99 a month
* Unlimited DVDs through the mail
* Unlimited FREE in-store movie exchanges each month

til my 3 months are over, right? Does that plan mean I pick three.. get them in the mail.. then go to my local store, return it and pick another three free.. and continue to just go to the local store instead so I can save on the mail turnaround time? :druel:

thats how i did it with them. but when i turned my 3 in store and receive 3 more, usually the next day they would mail me the next 3 in my queue... so i would just wait till i got those 3 then make one trip back to the store with 6... it was nice, but i ran out of stuff to rent so i quit. I usually just ripped them to my computer to watch later so i usually got 6 dvds every 2-3 days

I selected that plan.. checked "My Account" on top.. then on the left side under "Subscription Plan" I saw:

* BLOCKBUSTER Total Access Premium
* 3 at-a-time, Unlimited mailings
Unlimited in-store movie exchanges

* Plan Price (after trial period):
$34.99 / month (plus taxes)

* Next Billing Date:
July 11,2009

NOT EVEN FULL THREE WEEKS?!?!?!

I have the same issue. Looks like offer is dead. Now 2 weeks.


****P.S. Now you have to call to cancel your account, as you don't have the option to cancel online.**** Now I'm really never coming back to blockbuster.
