Ok,what is a zip drive?

I am wondering what a zip drive is.My husband is setting up my daughter's computer and for him to clean it up,he says he needs a zip drive.Ok,what is it and can i just buy one from Walmart,or Best Buy?Anyone,please just jump on in.Thank you.

It's a real out dated method of storing data on big disks called Zip disks. It's Very slow. I don't know why anyone would want one in these days of DVD writers.

A zip drive is OLD technology. You can get some here but not at any local stores: Link

I hope he is talking about a FLASH drive, which you can get at Wal-Mart or any other retailer for much less money: Link

We donated ours as well as all the discs that go with it...

Oh ok,then a flash drive is what i need.My daughter's computer is going to be cleaned out as if it were a new computer,and she has so many photos stored that we needed something to store the photos in before the the computer was updated.
