Nice deal... Makita makes great tools. My Dad has a Makita drill that he's used for years.

Home Depot sells the drill by itself for $179 or so. It's and awesome drill. I've enjoyed the heck out of mine so far.

The cool part about this kit is, you get the drill AND a killer impact driver with 1240 lb.ft. of torque.

Hold on a sec, guys. The torque per lb ft is not 1240lbs. In the product page, it shows only 103.3lb ft of tq., which I think is kind of low for that price? I saw a Buffalo Tools 12V Impact Wrench (item # IW12BX) at Kragen for $19.99 (though, it uses car battery) and claim that it product 100 something lb ft of tq. I don't have the sense as how much lb ft tq is adequate for auto works, but that seems kind of low to me since most of the other models have at least 200lb ft tq or up. That's just my 2cents. :)

hkninja,

The tool you referenced is an impact wrench used for tire nuts and the such. The Makita here is a cordless impact drill. They are two different type of tools.

Also the specs for the Makita is 103.3 ft.lbs. (1,240 in.lbs.).

Yes, inch ... not foot. I picked a bad day to stop sniffing glue. ;)

Compare this to Dewalt's hammer drill with 500 in. lbs. The Makita will handle almost anything you throw at it. It's great for driving lag bolts into concrete.
