Dear Parent,
In an effort to help kids truly understand the importance of sportsmanship and fair play, I call on you to assist me in spreading the word.
So much of what kids learn is by observing the words and actions of others. They look up to their parents and coaches, so when they see them doing something - whether it is good or bad - they mimic it or deem it to be appropriate behavior.
This is a difficult burden to bear because we are not perfect and we do make mistakes and sometimes our emotions get the best of us.
My challenge to you is to acknowledge that you play a critical role in teaching your kids how to be sportsmanlike.
How can I do this you ask?
By letting others know that you are part of the solution.
When you slip up or when your child or another player acts inappropriately, talk about the situation and explain what went wrong and how you or they should act differently the next time.
Join Packy's Team. I will then send you a pin that you can wear to games to show others that you are committed to being sportsmanlike and that you expect the same from others in return. This will also show your kids that you believe in the importance of sportsmanship and fair play - remember actions speak louder than words.
PLUS, when you join Packy's Team you will get great savings when you stay at Howard Johnson - the Official Hotel of the Packy PlayFair Sportsmanship Tour - or other Cendant Hotels. Click here for more information.
Each person's support makes a difference - so please, join Packy's Parents today!
Thanks again for your support.
