I stumbled onto this deal at KMART- 50% off Philips Noise-Cancelling Headphones made them about $30 ! MODEL HN110 , $48 at Walmart. These arenice full-headsets with airplane adapters.

The sale was weekend only- but she told me it may be repeated this weekend....

These are $37 at amazon, and don't have that great of reviews. I think I'll keep looking.

I saw the photo on walmart's site. They look pretty bulky. They would be difficult to lug around on a plane etc. However I wonder if they make noise cancelling headphones that are compact.

 you don't want to look like you should be in the tower instead of on the plane? maybe you could just put on some headgear and these headphones and tape your glasses with a bandaid and you'll be set! LOL

OHOH.. They had good reviews on CNET.. Hmm now I wonder if I should return them!? Hmmm.. They don't cancel noise?

As far as bulky- if you want the headset to cancel ambient noise, you probably want the full ear-coverage, which means bulky. They are actually small for full-coverage headsets.

nope on the way back we were going on the parkway and thought the head phones i could still hear the window being open and the birds chirping
