Planet Earth HD DVD for $29.95 Shipped

Bummer, this is only for the HD DVD and not Blue Ray!
Hmmm. I wonder why?
:convinced:
;)

HD DVD is a dead format. I expect we'll be seeing lots of cheap HD DVD products in the next few months.

HD DVD will probably have a blue ray machine one day to upgrade play quality
but still just for dvds it's a good deal and if you buy $50 worth of stuff ther is another $10 dvd deal best of set. Look at the Deals page you should find it.
Got 1 for me and One for my brother for his Christmas gift. I don't think they will rot by then.

Maybe this'll appreciate in value and go to a museum someday.

thanks for the great post, this is a collectable in any format.

Just a note that this is the discovery channel version and has about 1hr less footage and no cool british accent in the commentary. The picture on spoofee lists the BBC version which is a little misleading. But still an excellent price for $30. It's in HD whether you have it on HDDVD or BR, so saving $50 for having pretty much the same thing is great =)

If you have an HD-DVD player there are bargains coming along. I think it's still worth buying HD-DVD players; they do play the defunked HD-DVD format but also upscale standard DVD to near HD quality.

When the format lost, Amazon dropped the price of the players and I got one for a little over $120 and now I'm picking up content for $10 a disk.

I sure wasn't going to spend $400 for a player and $30 per disk the way the Blu-Ray industry wants me to.

BTW, ppl are making too big a deal about HD-DVD being defunked. The only difference over passed formats that went out is this one was announced. VHS was top in its day but I don't think studios release anything on VHS. However, if you still have the tapes and a player, the fact that it's an out format doesn't matter.

Where are you getting HD DVD's for $10???
Amazon marketplace. Search for the title you want, then click "used & new." Although prices vary, you can pick-up new disks way cheaper.

I just bought the Planet Earth HD-DVD, we just got done watching most of the series from Netflix and it was awesome... totally worth it at $29 and some change.
