i would fasure get the xbox bundle if its 100 bucks!

The best part about GC is you can play game backups w/o a mod chip. If anyone is interested how I can post about it.

Is this also online? I searched for it real quickly and didn't find it. However, if it is, there is a 10% off coupon at Target.com.

Promo code: "TCAMAZNBBCPN"
expires 12/31/04

Very quickly, you must get the BBA (Ethernet atapter) a memory card, and the game Phantasy Star Online I & II (on the same disk). Then download the Phoenix loader. You hookup the GC to your PC via the ethernet adapter and can play games by streaming them directly to the GC. Or you can backup your own games the same way by streaming the game from the GC to the PC. The Phantasy Star Online I & II and the Ethernet adapter may be a little hard to find, but try eBay or your local games store.

Get the Phoenix Loader here. The site is French, but you will get the idea. I'll be happy to help further once you get this stuff:

"Look in the Telechargements (translated to download) section under Loaders"

Hmm i wonder who actually had time to figure this out...rahul

Well if you enjoy gaming it's worth it. The only drawback is some games either don't play at all or they play a little choppy because they are being streamed over a 10mb line instead of 20mb. Hopefully that can be fixed someday.

That's cool, now I can just play backups.. and don't have to be scared of wrecking my originals.. once I'm done playing backups.. I'll just sell the original and destroy my backup.. can sell as new on ebay. wink wink

I have a question going in the other direction..... Spoofee u said rumor has it that a deal like this may be coming out for PS2?? THAT I am interested in, given that I have been considering buying one solely for GTA San Andreas. How good are these "rumors" and are there any further details?

The new slim PS two is out so you can expect some kind of promotion.

You can trade in your old ps2 get $100 credit for the new ps2 at ebgames. You can also trade in games, dreamcasts, ps1's etc....

There is a bit more to playing GC games that way. Maxconsole.com forum has the how to. Be sure to set your network card to half duplex the first time as its more compatible.

Acutally I play 1 of 2 ways:

1. 10mb full duplex - More compatible
2. 100mb half duplex (it's not truly 100mb, but is it is slightly faster than 10mb)

Man, that's an awesome deal. I may get that for myself for christmas. The GameCube is still alive. Nintendo may never die out of the console world, unlike some other cat named Sega or NEC. As for the PS2 & XBOX bundles to come, they won't be $99. They will be $150 and up with goodies bundled. I heard rumor of an XBOX combo that comes with two controllers, DVD remote, and two games for $199.

In fact...time for a new thread

that's a good point about the articles being outdated - it definitely wouldn't surprise me though if solid bundles were released in the near future for ps2 and xbox - perhaps they'll bundle the xbox with halo2? Wouldn't that be lovely :hmm:

Yeh, they are a bit old. But they're also Japan...if/when their deals get to us, it's always many months later.
