Possible PNY GeForce4 Ti4200 128MB only $80 (store mistake?)

THe word on the street is that BestBuy stores have the PNY GeForce4 Ti4200 for $80. The box says 64MB, but a lot of people who purchase have opened the box to find the 128MB 8x AGP version! Note:avoid ones with a "64MB Beats 128MB" sticker.

Well, they don't have that deal in my town. I just called 'em and they said the 64mb TI4200 is $169.

I got two of these cards last night for $79, both of them are PNY GeForce4 4200 128meg ddr 8xAGP

but what I'm thinking is you goto Compusa have them price match Bestbuy for $79 and then get the $30 mail-in rebate.....Total $49

I didn't get to try becuase Compusa was sold out

Just grabbed one from BestBuy, without the 64 beats 128 sticker. Opened it up and it's an 8X card, but only 64MB No biggie. I was planning on picking up an ATI 9700 Pro AIW once the 9800's are released (April 1) and the prices drop a bit on the AIW card. The 4200 will work nicely in the kids' computer after I upgrade.

Called up my local BB...they only have the 128MB version in stock and its priced @$200! D'oh...was hoping for an $80 Ti4200.

At BestBuy the salespeople don't even know the pricing. It is an unadvertised pricematch to CompUSA. Even the shelf sticker will say $169. It will only show up at $79 when scanned. I got mine yesterday - no "crushes" label and it turned out to be the 128Mb 8X AGP version.

This is a "hidden" pricematch. I went to two BB's in the Las Vegas area, couldn't find the card at all. But on a whim, I checked out their in-store kiosk, WHALLA, they have it priced $79.99 (you have to hit the Buy button to see the discount, it's NOT apparent otherwise). Obviously they've been getting burned on the PM (which would have cost them another $9.00 discount), but they're not "advertising" it all too much. I ordered two in-store @ $79.99. Just got back and double checked online, still selling for $169.99 at BB.com.

I got one on rebate from Compusa on Sunday. Discovered the BestBuy match on Monday and checked out the local store - sold out in Warwick Rhode Island. I went over to nearby Massachussets where the BB had plenty in stock at $169.99.

I asked the clerk to verify the price and it came back $79.99. I bought 2 more.

I've been using an ATI Rage family card with 32MB memory. I play a couple of games and it performs superbly. Does one of these high performance Geforce cards really make a noticeable difference?

I am addicted to Dungeon Siege. The aforementioned ATi card gives a terrific image. When I install this new card will I really see a better image?

I bought 3 of these 'cause I'm building a couple of boxes for some guys at work and this was such a good buy.

My buddy has a 128Mb nVidia with Dungeon Siege and his picture is no better than mine is.

As of 4:30PM there is one of these left in the Seekonk Massachussets store. Warwick Rhode Island is sold out as is Attleborough Mass.

I am going to return the one I got at the CompUSA as it has a $30 rebate...no need to bother with the rebate now.
