price database tracking majigger?

so i was thinking, recurring stuff that are always on sale should have some kind of database thing that keeps track of all the prices that has been logged. for example, i am looking for a 1gb sd card. however, it seems that it is constantly on sale so wouldnt it be cool if u had a database that tracked how cheap the 1 gb sd card has ever been and the normal price it can be found for.

I think I might be able to implement something like this, but I'm afraid it'll make the user interface harder to view. I can easily include a button to view historical deals on the same item.
