Amazon Sellers has R4DS Revolution for Nintendo DS for $23.33 shipped. This will let you load homebrew games/roms, mp3s, ebooks on your DS.

All you need to do is to buy a microSD card (up to 2gb) and load it up. Great way to combine all your DS games into one cartridge

Update : Since these are sold by individual sellers, prices are fluctuating.

Lowest price now is $28.97 shipped

1. Amazon Seller Price : $20.32 + Ship($3.99)
- Click on "used & new" section to find R4 V2s
- Make sure you buy the ones that are noted "V2 (2nd generation)" in the Comments since V3 or R4DS II Upgrades are fake.

I've been looking for one of these at a reasonable price for a while.

We had a FlashLinker but it was stolen years ago. Thanks Spoofee for helping me once again earn my sons love through my wallet.

I would be a little weary.. this is usually a $40+ item... also look at the pictures on amazon, they seem to depict a different card.

BTW i have an R4 and I love it! never had an issue and its very compatible with homebrew items.

The reviews of these sellers are 90-99% so I think they are selling legitimate products.

Or even more likely it's a clone product engineered outside the States to operate in hopefully the same fashion. Sadly feedback isn't your best bet as to authenticity. A friend ordered a Sandisk SD card from a seller that had 99.9% positive feedback elsewhere and it was a counterfeit/clone, it's just most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Anyways, as long as it works I guess. (Without going into an economical debate about cloned items from other countries. :p)

Look at the DSTT on DEALEXTREME works great....it's cheaper....can use Micro SDHC up to 16GB.....R4 only uses Micro SD up to 2GB.

Silly questions, but:

1) how does this thing work?
2) how easy is it to install?
3) how easy is it to find free games?

FYI I didn't do a Google search yet. :o

Its really easy to use, just load a MicroSD card with the files from their site (www.r4ds.com). Then load the card with *.nds files and put the MicroSD card into the R4 then into your DS. The DS will load up a shell that you select games and then browse the card for the *.nds file.

as for the free games, there are not that many "free" games (although the homebrew community is very active). usually people use DS roms on it, which if you do not own the actual game is illegal to have. I use it for homebrew stuff, by favorite is Beup which is an Windows Live client for the DS.

Thanks!! Does that site have a translator? :worry:

R4's are older units. DS Real is newer & supports any game. I haven't tried a DSTT yet but some say it has spring issues.

You just load some games onto your micro card with a USB reader & put it in your DS Real or DSTT & then put it in your DS. 2 gigs is plenty thats a few dozen games.

The new link provided brings you to a "R4DS V3".:worry::worry:

Don't worry, the individual sellers under the "used/new" section are still selling the V2. You can look through the comments to find the v2s. :)

I am confused - why not buy the newer version - the V3?
