I'm interested in the 60GB.. but does anyone know if the refurbished have blemishes.. "used condition" or are as cosmetically new as the new ones??

Refurbished ones probably have the same chips (maybe replaced drives), but the outer covers are brand new...

That's how cell phones work...so I'm speaking from that side.

My son got a refurbished Apple ipod from Overstock. The cover was scratched up and had a small chip in it. They had not replaced the cover. I sent it back and got a full refund.

It looks Like Brand New

i just Received the 30gb Video Black Ipod. :D It looks like Brand new. Everything same. just the box says Reconditioned. even it has the plastic on all over
the body to prevent from scratch. i will Highly Recommend to buy from Apple
Any other question just Ask me

Picked up a Video Ipod 3 days ago, should be arriving today. I will post the quality of the iPods.

Just ordered a black one (2G, $99). Let you know how it is once I get it :)

those who ordered the refurbished ones, please keep us posted later on how your ipods are? like cosmetic and function-wise. big thanks!

I am considering one for myself, so i am awaiting feedback also.
this is from apples website:
Apple Certified Refurbished Products are pre-owned Apple products that undergo Apple's stringent refurbishment process prior to being offered for sale. These products have been returned under Apple's Return and Refund Policies. While only some units are returned due to technical issues, all units undergo Apple's stringent quality refurbishment process.

Each Apple Certified Refurbished Product:

* is fully tested (including full burn-in testing).
* is refurbished with replacement parts for any defective modules identified in testing.
* is put through a thorough cleaning process and inspection.
* is repackaged (including appropriate manuals, cables, new boxes, etc.).
* includes the operating software originally shipped with the unit and the custom software offered with that system. See each products "Learn More" for more details.
* is given a new refurbished part number and serial number.
* is placed into a Final QA inspection prior to being added to sellable refurbished stock.

I just ordered a 2 gig nano. I ordered it yesterday around noon and it has already shipped. Estimated to get here next thursday the 21st. So I will post again once I recieve the item and let ya all know how it is. I have purchased a ton of refurbished electronics (2 sony VAIO laptops, Sony DV cam, and lots more) over the past 8-10 years and I gotta say ive always been impressed with the quality of refurbished items. In some cases they are just excess bulk items that are passed as refurbished just to get rid of them.

will go purchase then! ;)

The refurb 512 is down to $29 with $4 shipping and the 1gb is $59.

These ipods are refurbished for a reason, simply stated ipods suck and so does Apples support for them. I have had mine own break after a year and many of my friends had the same thing happen. Apple knows this and that's why there is only a 60 day warranty.

Try the Zune out instead, I've not yet used it, but it can't be worse than an ipod.

I agree...I have purchased the 2GB refurb. one from them... came DOA, called for replacement which came rather quick except that it worked only for 2 hours!!
sent it back...
Very disappointed ...

According to the Apple website near the refurbished iPods:

I don't know where you got the 60 day warranty from.
