Most Restaurant.com coupons are for about 60% off, with a minimum purchase of around 150%.

That is, a $50 certificate will cost $20, and only be valid on a dinner of $75 or more (before tax and tip). With 70% off the $20 you are paying 12% of the original $50, so your $100 dinner ($75 + 20% tip + 10% tax) ends up costing around $55.

Last one I used was a $25 certificate which was valid on a purchase of $35. I paid $2 for it, and the bill before tip was $8. This included salad, entrees, and drinks, plus a cheap appetizer. The bill was $47 before tip, which they did not automatically add on. We left a tip of about $9. So what normally would have cost us $55 was $19 including what we paid for the certificate, so it was about 2/3 off.

these things usually dont work out so good....glad to see you puzzled it out tho groove1....i stopped using em years ago...too much hassle. If restaurants want to get the likes of me in, they should have more reasonable prices to begin with.

I don't use them as much as I used too, but I am choosy with the ones I do use. To get a $47 meal for $10 before tip was pretty good, but it doesn't always work out that way. We don't go out to eat as much anymore anyway. SOMETIMES using coupons from the Entertainment book or Charlotte Citipass is better, but not always.
