Samsung 160GB Hard Drive for Free + Make $5 After Pricematch / Rebate

Circuit City has a great deal on the Seagate 160GB hard drive with pricematch and rebates.

Note : YMMV since some managers may not accept pricematch because of the rebates.

1. Print this page from Officemax showing the hard drive for $69.98.
2. Find a Circuit City near you that has the hard drive in stock.
3. At the cash register, show them the Officemax page and ask for a pricematch.
4. Rebate Price : -$40.00
5. Rebate Price : -$30.00
Final Price : Free + Make around $5

hey anyone sucess in getting this offer from circuitcity for 69.99?

I had CCity send me a letter saying that the Price i paid for the item was to low for them to give me a rebate. Doh!

no luck, they do'nt price match for Rebate items!! :-(

I had CCity price match mine, but I have yet to test if the actual rebate part works.

A little late on this deal anyway. The rebate expired 07/15. Why post it so late??

Do this at your OWN RISK

The clerk told me that if I did get the price match, the rebate clearing house may deny my rebate, because they will realize that I did not pay the intended price (and BOTH of the rebates happen to be to Circuit City rebate addresses).

I did not know if the clerk was just saying this to irritate customers, or if Circuit City is really cracking down on people like us who think we can put a "squeeze play" on the big retailing behemoths. I decided not to take the chance, because I do not want to be left holding a 160GB hard drive for $40 cost (with no rebates to show for it)...that would make it uneconomical.

Had the rebates been given by the manufacturer, for example, I would have just ignored the clerk and say "Just ring up the purchase, thank you very much", because the third party rebate house does not care how much you paid for the item...they will just process the rebate as long as you send them everything they ask for.

I had more than one occasion been the "victim" of my own greed, thinking I could get something for free with money coming back into my own pocket...and this had always involved the actual retailer as the one giving out the rebate.

Was anybody else more bold?

Anyone bother to read the rebate forms?

"Qualifying items must have been purchased between
07/09/06 and 07/15/06"

Bummer, I went out and purchased this and did not read the forum first 15th End Date ???????? Talk about late post, Ware is the Mod's.
