Good price, for sure, only one problem, SanDisk CF performance is typically abysmal:

Even the lowest of the low-end beats the crap out of it. Comes in 22nd in a field of 22, my my, for a major brand, I do find this impressive! With those #s, it should be selling for $35 w/o rebate!
 
Well, I'm not a heavy digital camera user. My camera came with 32MB, and I've been pretty happy with that. I think out of the last two months with my camera, I've taken 50 pictures :p. 256MB is a nice upgrade; and speed is unimportant to me :D.

Amazon's web page says the Sandisk 256 MB CF will be available to ship in 1-2 weeks, so it's out of stock I guess. Is the purchase date that counts for the rebate the day you order it or the day it ships?

I don't know about Amazon, but I know that other places often list only the day it ships on the invoice in which case I would miss the rebate if I ordered today. Even if it were in stock I might miss the rebate because it wouldn't ship until tomorrow.

Is the Viking 256 MB CF that is $6 more after rebate at Amazon better or worse? I think Buy.com had the same deal on the Viking CF. According to the speed results at dpreview, Viking is a lot faster. Maybe I could try that one hoping that Viking is good about fulfilling their rebates. Any opinions?
