I need a scanner mostly to scan regular pics and put them on cd. I don't know too much about scanners so I don't really know which are the best and whats a good deal out there. Any help would be great! :)
 
Go for the CanoScan 8600F. That's what I researched and bought. I LOVE it. It is a really great scanner. You may have to look around for a deal, or try to do the whole coupons or money off with Google checkout. But it is worth it. It was one of the best scanner picks in one of the computer mags that we get. But I can't remember which mag or the month now. LOL But it was pretty recent.

Thanks Faerie, I read the reviews on this one and they are all very good! :) It is a little more than I would like to pay but with Black Friday coming up there might be some deals out there.
 
I've been pleased/lucky with Visioneer scanners, but depending on what else you need it for the Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 should be more than adequate.
 
It seems like you might have a hard time finding the 8600 right now. Buy.com might get some more in stock. There is the 8800 available at many places. You would have to look hard for some good deals though. It's a wee bit pricey.
