Seagate 100GB 8MB USB External Hard Drive for $140.95 Shipped

if you're looking for an internal 100gb 2.5" hard drive (for a laptop), you can gut it from this as well.

External HDs are over priced. Don't buy these kind with the hard drives in them. Buy the external case for $25 and a 100gig internal hard drive for $50. Saves you tons of money.

Edit: Just scroll down on the homepage and you'll see a really nice deal for a 300gig hard drive, only $90.

2nd Edit: You can also get a 2.5in external enclosure, which is a laptop hard drive.

remember though that the 300gb hard drive would be a desktop hard drive which are bigger, bulkier, louder, run hotter, and require an external power source.

So you're saying that this 2.5in external hard drive does not need an external power source? So it draws power from USB?

Most (if not all) 2.5 hard drive can run on usb power. 3.5 will require an external power supply.

Hello, I've been doing some shopping on eBay after this deal was posted and couldn't find many non AC-Adapter required External HD's.

I did see this one though on Buy.com
http://www.buy.com/prod/Seagate_200GB_External_Hard_Drive_ST3200823A_RK/q/loc/18084/10371034.html

Could someone pleaseeeeee tell me why its an extra $10 for 200 GB?

I noticed the 400GB external Seagate DOES require an AC Adapter but the 200GB doesn't mention anything besides firewire and USB ports.

*eep* Help! =p

EDIT:

Amazon cleared things up, AC adapter needed for the 200GB version >.<

Laptop hds get power from usb cable.

Non laptop hds need more power, so they need ac/dc.
