Ok...for those who know what they're talking about (as if that has ever stopped any of us from commenting) - What is a good tent (3 or 4 person) that is sturdy, not too heavy and keeps out the rain? We need it for scouting. Someone suggested getting one with a long fly (Resist. I know, it's very tempting).

:wavey: Hi sun....I have a Coleman Extreme tent, and I love it :) It is a 4 season tent. Make sure it is waterproof NOT WATERRESISTANT, waterresistant means you get wet!!! The rainfly must go to the ground to keep you dry.My tent ran about $225, but like everything else, you get what you pay for..and the Coleman Extreme is well worth the money, also it is quite easy to put up :thumb: Good lucK :teeth:

:rainme: If all else fails, a good tarp can keep you dry, and places like Harbor Frieght Tools sells some big tarps for a reasonable price, and dont forget to look online at Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops they run sales on camping gear all the time :)

You should probably measure your backyard first, to make sure it fits.

I prefer Homewood Suites.....it doesn't matter if it rains or snows...always quite comfortable....and comes with plumbing.... :yesnod: and breakfast is included.

This works well too......

What you are looking for is called a 3 season backpacking tent. Read This Article l

For good quality and not a toy, REI is a good source as is LL Bean. You don't need an expedition level tent, so no need to spend a lot of money. Try using the search term "outfitter" Many ski shops cater to the backpacker/bikepacker in summer and have decent camping equipment including tents.

I like using the search terms, "Jacuzzi in room, mini-bar, room service and movies on demand"...I find those "tents" most desirable. :yesnod:

Oh, and I prefer room service to have "decent equipment" as well.....:blushing:.....IYKWIM....
