SimpleTech 2GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive $7.62 Shipped After Rebate

I got the 1GB for $7 AR, it is a very, very slow drive. Copying a 5MB file took 2-3 minutes!! I would never buy simpletech products. I hate it :frusty:
 
I got the 1gb drive too, but it didn't take that long for any of my files. It took about a minute to copy a 300mb file. Tho now, I'm kicking myself for not waiting longer because I would have gotten this 2gb drive for virtually the same price.
 
Shipping?

When I tried to get this thru Google checkout it nixed the FREE shipping- granted $20 off is better than free shipping but I didn't see where anyone else had this issue. It wants to charge $6.01 for STANDARD:3-5 days, when Buy.com has it marked as FREE shipping. Ideas?

just close browser comeout/logout and checkin again. I have encountered same situation and it works perfect
 
change the shipping by using the drop down menu. There is a free option that takes up to 9 days.
 
Slow Slow Slow Flash Drive

The performance of this drive is so poor that it does NOT qualify for Windows Vista ReadyBoost feature. Couple Flash Drive manufacturer is dumping those non ReadyBoost compatible drives.
 
what a rip off

I just ordered two of these from buy.com and they sent me 2 kingston 512mb memory cards??? What a bunch of flakes. Called to get straightened out and apparently they can't exchange them, you have to return and re-buy which invalidates the rebate!!!!!! Ooooh those people.
 
I placed the order 12/7 for this drive. After 2 unanswered e-mails and one phone call, I was told that it is not is stock. I think that they should be telling you whether the item is in stock. I bought it from Google, and they charged my card. So I cancelled the order, and now have to wait 3-5 business days before they'll credit my account. It has made me reconsider ordering anything from buy.com.
