With the political arena heating up, it really doesn't matter to me what your political afflications are. What I am curious about, is what are the three issues that you would personally like to see addressed/resolved? With Spoofee being so diverse with cultural and geographical implications, it would be an indicative cross section of our country, and, its varied needs.

1) The economy...living on a small island, we are getting hit so very badly with hikes in food costs! Why? Because the increase in transporation costs to merely come across the bridges to bring food to the area. I went to Food Lion this morning, and, had to pay $11.79 for a can of Folgers coffee.:( The American people need some tax breaks, and economic plans to stablize these prices! The next major city is about thirty five minutes away, meaning, I would not save much given gas prices. I do shop if I am in a major city.

2) Medical costs/insurances...so many of the patients locally are going without their medications, even if they have prescription plans. Pharmacuetical companies are stepping up to give out coupons, free samples, and, rebates, but, you have to fall within in set financial parameters. Just had a senior citizen the other day stop taking his medications post stroke because he could not affort the thirty day supply...the cost...$657. And no, there is no generic formula. Yep, the pharmacy and I worked hard to arrange his medications at sixty percent off, and, a few samples tossed in as well. We need better health care for ALL.

3) Education...without education, our children have no future in the global network. It is just that simple. Over in Denmark, they take out taxes so that everyone's kids have the opportunity to obtain a higher level of education. Our inner city schools need so much help. Here on the Island, we have several elementary, middle and one high school with a couple of religious private schools tossed in as well. Folks here will go shopping with coupons to buy school supplies and take them to the schools, we just do not receive enough funding, and, young parents are pushed to the max. Two families in my local neighborhood just foreclosed, just about tore my heart out.

So there are my three "barks" of the morning. Here is your chance to get YOUR ISSUES off of your chest!

Spoofee doesn't have enough bandwidth to tackle my issues.

Okay you two....POLITICAL ISSUES!!! Not SHOE issues! Not SQUIREL issues! argh....sigh. What kind of medical insurance do you have? Step into my office....

Rags, you are using far too many brain cells today. The only thing I'm POed about is cost of electricity going up 90% in 4 months  I'm afraid it will never go back down just like everything else. Once prices go up, they stay there. Just think of almost anything and what it cost you 20 yrs ago compared to today - say a cup of coffee. Discounting Starbucks, when I was a kid (more than 20 yrs ago) a cup of coffee was 10 cents and refills were free. Now it's one cup for a buck (or more) and if you want another it's another buck. Some prices go up slow and stay there while other go up fast but they stay there too. The only way to beat this one is to make more money but if the bills get high too fast (faster than the income goes up) it's a real pisser.

So you have urinary issues? :convinced:

 Sheesh, I remember that cup of coffee for twenty cents. That is what is bugging me so badly about food costs. It all boils down to "supply and demand." Where is Robin Hood when you need him? :noidea:

I might be mistaken but I think Robin Hood was a Democrat.

Well played!

Jerry, who is your electric utility, Con Ed?

I'm amazed that the New York PSC allowed hikes of 90%, but after all the fires and blackouts, they had to do something. Had they kept up with routine maintenance over the last 20-30 years, this would not be happening.

But, that is true of almost EVERY electric utility in the country. In the 80's the management shifted from having an engineering background to accountants and lawyers. They weren't interested in reliability, only in bottom line profits every quarter. We're seeing the results of that insanity now.

Well, it was indeed "Maid Marion" who ran the show out in the forest....so, nothing seems to have changed from the Medevil times. Wish they had a Candidate to fill the slot of "Who else do you have." No Democrate bumper sticker anywhere near my car. Doubt they would approve of my flag choice in the front yard, and my gun collection.

The State of Maryland sued the electric company and won, not sure what all went on, but at least some of the clients saw a small rebate on their bills. We have Delmarva Power, and, if I had to devise an estimate for my rate increases it would be between twenty-five and thirty percent, not to terrible. However, I have personally made energy saving choices, and, managed to cut costs. The USA truly needs a more encompassing energy plan for the people.

Yes I have some major issues!! The first one is that I want to be a part of the 7 dwarfs in one of the postsmentioned.
I definitely can say that I am the following dwarf(s):

Grumpy: because I hurt all of the time.
Sleepy: see above.
Doc:because I don't take crap from anyone and also I maintain peace in the family.
Sneezy: my allergies have the best of me 365/24/7.

The second issue I have is I have been denied SSI.I can go on and on here!!!
