solar pool heating....

We have a 16x32 above ground (1/2 sunk) pool. We want to use solar heating panels to heat the pool.

We've already have the pump and the piping in place running up to the roof (flat roof-sun exposure all day).

All that's left is to buy the solar panels and hook it up.

I've done a google search an this is what has come up. Has anyone in SpoofeeLand attempted such a feat or has had any experiences? What can you recommend?

why not just throw a hairdryer in there? That'll do the job quick!
 
I'd say just buy the biggest magnifying glass you can find and use it to heat the water. I'll check around and see what kind of deals I can find for ya. :tongue:

I have a better idea...

Throw a keg party and invite us all over for a day of fun and swimming.

Be sure to take down the "Please don't pee in our pool" sign.

By the end of the day, the water should be about 98.6!

OK - since you didn't like my first suggestion - go to your local $1.00 store, down the hardware isle and pick up $100.00 worth of those 'Heat a cup of soup coils'. Then pick up a bunch of extension chords (the kind with the multiple plugs), plug in all the coils - drop them in the pool and voila!

Pool heat.

My next suggestion involves gasoline, a stack of wood and a visit from the FDNY.
