This kind of statement really pisses me off. Do you have any kids? I can't find one of these for my 2 year old because of aholes like you that are trying to make a "mint". I hope the people that bought them never sell them and end up sitting on 20 Elmo's and end up taking a loss. OR, a big bird takes a giant dump on them as they are yawning while tilting their head back.
Wow. It's called supply and demand. Our entire economic system works on it. Shouldn't you be blaming the "aholes" that are willing to pay over $100 a piece for these thing?
And for the record, no I don't have kids, but I care a lot about children. And I'll tell you something, there are plenty of more educational and entertaining toys for children,
especially two year olds than a $40 TMX Elmo. Make no mistake, this is all about prestige for the parents and not about fun for your "poor" two year old. I highly doubt that your two year old even noticed TMX Elmo, if he/she ever even saw one on a TV commercial in the first place. I'm sure he/she was begging for one for the holidays, right?
But you go ahead and call me an ahole for trying to make a few dollars using the very system this country's entire economy is based on. And don't you dare pull the old "Oh, think about the children who won't get TMX Elmo!". Come on. Like I said, this is about prestige. "Oh, did you get
your kid an Elmo this year? You didn't? Well I did!" as they smile proudly. Meanwhile the child is having more fun and learning more from many of his or her other toys like a toy musical instrument or some crayons. Heaven forbid we should encourage our children to be creative and spend some time with them. Just stick a giggling stuffed animal in front of them.
I'm glad my parents never went with the "trendy" toys just because everyone else was.
The real embarassment is the fights that happen between parents in the stores so that they can snatch up an Elmo before the other parents. At least I'm not shoving people out of the way to get to them. That's freakin barbaric. I'm a classy, well spoken, considerate, respectful person. I think you're the one that exposed your character by calling me a name just for wanting to make a few dollars on the maniac parents who are willing to throw away over $100 just so they can brag about being the only parent on the block who was able to get an Elmo for their child.
