I posted the Toys R us thread likely at the same time as the recent posts. I got one.
 
I was just able to get one from Target.com at 12:45pm (PST) (3:45 EST) fine. So this is not yet expired. It said expected ship date December 8-11.

Also it is weird how the link goes to it (above) but if you search for it on Target.com it doesn't even show up in the search (at least I couldn't find it). Thanks for the find.
 
BTW if you click on the Find it at a Target Store button, they might have it in stock near you and you can save on shipping if you run. ;)

I tried this, I called 80% of the shoes in the list, not one store had them in stock.

It might be back at TRU too, so be sure to check both. I think TRU is cheaper if you use Google Checkout.
 
Tried TRU... for a little while the 'add to cart' button was active, but when you clicked it, it would say it was unavailable...

just tried TRU again, and this time it is offline completely...

but Target is still active!
 
I found tmx elmo @ the target store last Friday (12/01).. Keep checking the stores... they do have them.. just put out a few at a time though
 
Uh oh, I just got this e-mail from target.com, looks like most of us won't be getting Elmo. Makes sense why the link worked but you couldn't search for it on the site:
