its a device that you plug one into your router and one hooks to the ethernet port of your game console. It doesnt use 802.11, so theres no setup hassle.

My problem is that I cant imageing playing a game online over wifi on the Xbox 360. Its just not as fast as a wired network. Im sure they took this into account, but I dont trust the bandwidth.
 
it goes up to 1.5 mbps, which is fine for playing xbox live. most service provider only give 2.0 mbps anyways, and you rarely ever use that much. My friend has on of these and there is no lag whatsoever. Great deal for playing games or surfing the internet, just don't try file sharing with this, you can get up to 108 mbps on a wireless router (probably even more now)

FYI, I have a xbox 360 wireless adapter and all I do is play 360 Live.. It works flawlessly. It is amazing.. So definetely a good purchase
