This is NOT that great of a deal. The mouse does NOT work with a USB cable. You have to use the receiver. But, you still need to carry a USB cable to recharge the battery. Since there is no real space/weight savings, you are better off with a small USB wired mouse.

To each his own likes and dislikes. I have this mouse, purchased as part of a combo pack (notebook mobile essentials). I think this was a spoofee deal at Circuit City posted back in March or something like that.

Anyhow, the mouse is the only thing from the kit that I actually use almost every day. I'll take the wireless convenience anyday over a wired mouse. It holds its charge for days, so charging isn't really such an issue.
