What's the big deal with this DVD writer when you can get one with double speed in $65 (No MIR) or a dual layer in $82 from new egg??

TDK makes very good quality burner, my very old and slow (24x) CD burner never burned a bad CD

as of Newegg, i don't know if i am the only unlucky person, i ordered a NEC black DVD writer and received a silver one, e-mail them and requested for exchange, they insisted to do RMA and wanted me to order again, checked on their site, RMA costs 15% restocking fee, e-mailed them again and complaint about it, they agreed to waive the restocking fee, but trying to say that it's my fault,

i used their filter to filter only black DVD writer, and when i ordered, the picture showed black and the title said BLACK

now i have to go through all the hassle to return it, wait for refund, and re order, i don't know if i wanna order them again
 
Alot of people swear by newegg. But sounds like you sure got a raw deal. So guess you are one who swears at newegg.
 
I also faced a similar problem at new egg that they sent me a faulty computer case. When I posted my reviews on resellerratings.com, they immidiately refunded me for the amount and sent a good case after I RMAed old one ... There is no restocking fee for RMA if they sent a wrong part.

Better list your grieveances at resellerratings.com ....

Yeah, I had a problem with a case as well. If you post a bad rating, they'll fix the problem. They have a really good rma service and will reimburse your shipping up to $10 if you need. I've rmaed a lot of things with them so I know they're good with it. You can do a cross-ship if you'd like; I've done it before and it worked...

As for the burner, TDK makes awesome products. I sure hate that I missed this deal
 
Drat, exactly what I'm looking for. It just goes to show you have to visit Spoofee every day. The OEM NEC is still available at NewEgg for $79 but I'd have prefered a full retail TDK for $50 of course. :banghead:
